For selling cub scout popcorn ($600 worth), I got a “Tasco” microscope/telescope combo! It is fully awesome in every way! Through the telescope, I saw the moon, Venus, and Jupiter. Moggie was looking through the telescope and all she saw was blue, so we named a new planet, “Blupiter”. The microscope is also fully awesome. you can see up to 900x the original size, and make your own slides. It also comes with a dropper, a spatula, a scalpel, and a dissection probe (to get specimens from non-living things). To preserve what you put in the slides, it comes with one bottle of gum, one bottle of methyl orange, and one bottle of methlyene blue. The slide I made was oak leaf, and it looks really cool up close. This set comes with an erecting eyepiece. You hold something up to the far end and look look through the near end, and it magnifies the specimen 14x. I ran around the house and yard forever looking at every thing in sight with that thing! The microscope is really going to help with my science Co-op, because we’re studying cells and classification. Just one last time, This set is fully awesome!!

My, oh, my… Pecan pie.
This is Mama’s recipe for pecan pie, or “pee-can” if you’re from the north. It’s a great family dessert, whether its thanksgiving or not.
“Marfa”
Anybody own a small, tan dog that is very, very cute? Because we found a dog that fits that description by the church. We’re fostering her until we can find her real owner. We decided to call her Martha, because she looks a lot like the TV character, Martha the talking dog, but cowboy calls her “Marfa”, hence the title of this post.
Mmm… coffee!
Our broken-down, old coffee maker has been replaced with a BUNN! Now, we can drink more coffee! The new coffee maker was sent to us by an anonymous source… it just popped up on our porch by magic (not literally)! If the person who sent us that BUNN is reading this, THANK YOU!

Sick
My sister BIRDie is sick. Tomorrow we’re supposed to go to our grandmother’s house. If you can put two and two together, you’ve discovered the awful, inevitable outcome. She’s not going. Normally, if someone was sick in this family, it would just be a high fever, and they’d have to rough out the trip. But if you were in this room with BIRDie, you’d be able to tell that this is not high fever. She’s coughing, yesterday she couldn’t speak, and she got sick twice last night. Pray for BIRDie!
Freddie!
I got a virtual pet! He is so cute! He’s a hamster named Freddie. If you click on him he’ll run on his tread-wheel. Click “more” to feed him. He is located on the side of my home page. I named him after one of my favorite book characters, Freddy the golden hamster. When I get a book list up, you can order one of these fantastic books about Freddy and his friends (you’re probably thinking, because of the title, that this is recommended for children, but it’s great for all ages). You can’t really pet Freddy, he’s just there. But, he’s fun to have around. I hope you like Freddy!
